We are passionate about what we believe in and want as many people as possible to be able to use our website, regardless of age or disability.

We have made every effort to ensure that our website meets or exceeds the relevant legal requirements. We believe that this website meets or exceeds the requirements of the level A criteria of the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (WCAG WAI) 2.0 guidelines and use the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) specification.

Our website has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

This website is run by Bedford Musc Hub and you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • we have fallback images which are wrapped in <noscript> tags which helps older browser show the images. This does not ressult in a warning when testing but shows up as an alert.
  • some third party embedded content out of our controls such as contact forms.

Forms
We use a 3rd party plugin for our Teachers membership area. The login/register section on these pages are missing label elements on the forms, which results in an error when testing.

We plan to continue to test these pages with every plugin update.
