About Us
Music Education Hubs are groups of organisations – such as local authorities, schools, art organisations, community or voluntary organisations – working together to create joined-up music education provision, respond to local needs and fulfil the core and extension roles of the National Plan for Music Education (NPME).
The vision for Music Hub partnerships, in line with the overall NPME, is to enable all children and young people to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their musical interests and talents, including professionally. Underpinning this vision, Music Hub partnerships will be expected to focus on the following three aims:
To achieve these aims, Music Hubs, which receive and are accountable for government’s funding, will have responsibility for five strategic functions, to be delivered through the partnership, set out in the following diagram.
